CHILD CARE CENTRE

New development of a Child Care Centre for a range of ages in Parramatta, north-west of the Sydney central business district, residential suburb at the intersection of rich history and rapid development, with plenty of natural beauty thanks to its riverside location.

The center consists of full floor basement car parking, separated outdoor play areas and distinct tiers. Each tier is set back from the one below it, and they all contain large spaces and classrooms, visually communicating with the environment and eliminating the concept of the classroom as a closed space. The material selection is in harmony with the character of the local area and traditional Australian style: bronze tone face bricks, timber, concrete render up-turns and colored feature aluminum boxes with glazing combine to create this outstanding and timeless look within the neighborhood.

Cross ventilation, adequate sunlight and vegetation were all considerations incorporated into the architectural design in order to ensure the proper thermal comfort of the users.
